Our Beliefs
Here at Bethany Church, we are committed to helping people connect to God by living out and sharing the transformative love of Jesus Christ. Grounded in Wesleyan doctrinal beliefs, our faith is guided by the following core convictions:
The Triune God
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is the creator and sustainer of all things, infinite in power, wisdom, and love.
The Authority of Scripture
We believe the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God, serving as our final authority for faith and practice. The Word of God reveals God’s will and purposes for humanity and provides the guidance we need for a life of faith.
Salvation Through Jesus Christ
We believe that salvation is found only in Jesus Christ alone. Through His atoning death and glorious resurrection, Jesus offers forgiveness of sins and reconciliation with God to all who repent and believe. This salvation is a gift of grace, not earned by works, but received through faith.
The Work of the Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit empowers believers to live a holy and victorious life. The Spirit guides, convicts, comforts, and equips us to reflect Christ’s love and serve in His name.
Holiness and Sanctification
We are called to pursue holiness, growing in Christlikeness through the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit. This journey involves a heart fully surrendered to God, empowered to love Him and others with purity and passion.
The Church
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ. We’re called to worship God, make disciples, and serve the world. Each member of the Church has unique spiritual gifts to contribute to the mission of spreading the Gospel and building His Kingdom.
The Sacraments
We practice two sacraments instituted by Christ.
- Baptism: as an outward sign of an inward grace and our initiation into the faith community. We believe in immersion baptisms based on a profession of faith.
- The Lord’s Supper: as a means of remembering Christ’s sacrifice and celebrating His presence among us. Join us on the first Sunday of every month. Membership not required!
The Return of Christ
We believe in the personal and imminent return of Jesus Christ to judge the living and the dead. His return will bring the full realization of God’s Kingdom, where righteousness and peace will reign forever.
Human Dignity and Free Will
We believe every person is created in the image of God, with inherent dignity and worth. God grants us free will to accept or reject His grace, and He desires that all would come to repentance and experience eternal life.
Our Mission
Our greatest desire is helping people connect to God. As followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to love God, love others, and make disciples of all nations. Through worship, teaching, and service, we aim to be a light in the community, offering hope and truth in Jesus’ name
